Our school was originally built as a “New Type of School” from the “Master Plan for Reformation of Tokyo Metropolitan High Schools” project.


April 1st, 2008 “Science and Technology High School on the Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Site (temporary name) Development Preparation Room” is established inside the Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Technical High School. Yakuyama Takashi is placed in charge of the development.
October 2nd, 2009 After a modification of the development contract, “Tokyo Metropolitan Tama High School of Science and Technology” is officially established at the address of 6-8-9 Honcho, Koganei City, Tokyo.
Yakuyama Takashi becomes the school’s first principal.
November 2009 The school emblem is created.
December 2009 The school song is created.
April 2010 The first entrance ceremony for new students is held.
September 2011 The school moves to a new building (current building).
October 2011 Memorial ceremony for the opening of the new school.
April 2012 Specified as a super science high school (SSH) by the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
March 2013 First graduation ceremony.
Yakuyama Takashi, the first principal, retires.
April 2013 Kaneda Yuji becomes the second school principal.
December 2014 The school grounds is completed.
March 2016 Kaneda Yuji, the second principal, transfers to another school.
April 2016 Shiratori Yasushi, the current principal, becomes the third school principal.
